Tournament Date: November 10, 2012

There is a $50 entry fee charged for each team and the fee is due by Nov 5th. A $5.00 admission per person collected (Players do not pay).  Please inform your team of this admission fee.

Games will be played at Wheatmore High School (map) at the Stadium (field F-1)
and the practice field (field F-2).

Tournament Rules:

Each team must check in with tournament directors 1.5 hours before their first scheduled game.  Each player must have a Birth Certificate and they must weigh in.  A player that shows up after the teams check in must check in with tournament directors.  If a player participates in a game without checking in the team will be ejected from the tournament.  If a player does not meet the weigh requirements, the player must play center, guard, or tackle on offense.

Most importantly there will be a NO Tolerance Policy in effect for misconduct.   This will apply to any coach, player, parent, or any person at the fields.  This tournament is to provide all players an opportunity to play in highly competitive games.  It is your responsibility to have control your team and their parents.  Any person showing inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave the premises.  Also any person’s misconduct can result in forfeit for your team and even your team’s ejection from the tournament. 

All Games are played strictly by NCHSAA (High School) rules!  There will NOT be any protests.  The official’s will manage the games.  All official’s calls are final.   Modifications to NCHSAA rules are listed below.

D- Division (5-6 yr olds):

Player cannot turn 7 years old before August 1, 2012.  If a player weighs over 100 pounds they cannot be a running back (must play from tackle to tackle). 

  • Games are played in two 15 minute halves, continuous clock, with a 5-minute halftime. 
  • Games are played on half of the field.
  • Offense starts on the 35 yard line and gets 5 plays to score.
  • A turnover (fumble) will force the offense to restart on the 35 yard line with remaining downs to score. 
  • Two coaches will be allowed on the field during the game.  Coaches need to stay at least 10 yards back from the players during play.
  • Officials will control coaches on the field.

C- Division (7-8 yr olds):

Player cannot turn 9 years old before August 1, 2012.  If a player weighs over 120 pounds they cannot be a running back (must play from tackle to tackle). 

  • Games are 4, 8-minute quarters with a 5-minute halftime. 
  • The clock will continuously run except in the last two minutes of each half. 
  • Teams will kick-off. 
  • On fourth down team can punt or attempt to get first down, there will NOT be any walking off of yards instead of punting.
  • Two coaches will be allowed on the field during the game.  Coaches need to stay at least 10 yards back from the players during play.  
  • Officials will control coaches on the field.

B-Division (9-10 yr olds):

Player cannot turn 11 years old before August 1, 2012.  If a player weighs over 130 pounds they cannot be a running back (must play from tackle to tackle). 

  • Games are 4, 10-minute quarters with a 5-minute halftime.
  • The clock will continuously run except in the last two minutes of each half. 
  • Two coaches will be allowed on the field during the game.  Coaches need to stay at least 10 yards back from the players during play.  
  • Officials will control coaches on the field.

A-Division (11-12 yr olds):

Player cannot turn 13 years old before August 1, 2012.  If a player weighs over 155 pounds they cannot be a running back (must play from tackle to tackle).

  • Games are 4, 10-minute quarters with a 5-minute halftime.
  • The clock will continuously run except in the last two minutes of each half.
